Our Story
Our business was born out of lived experience and the belief that agriculture deserves more.
NextField has been established off the back of the dream of a young lad from a small town in Northen Ireland. This young lad sat at his mothers kitchen table at 18 years of age at 8pm, in his dirty work cloths, sporting the aroma of cow dung and silage. As he sat there with dirt as his makeup, he watched his mother cry as she set out his dinner hours after everyone else’s.
You were clever son, you could have joined the civil service, worked in a bank and here you are pet, I’m afraid for your future. You chose to study farming and you’ve no farm pet, what chance do you have?
That same boy, looking back some 30 years later at that moment, with his heart breaking for his mammys tears. On that occasion he rose from his seat, hugged his mother and said I will be totally fine mummy wait and see.
And fine he was, thanks to a belief in himself he worked his way up and traveled large parts of the world, worked and managed farms in 7 different countries and returned home to a success career .
That boy promised he would give something back, he would use his unique experience to help the next generation fulfil there dreams, help an industry that needs to think wider than the family farm.
There in NextField is born! A place where we take your agricultural career dreams and make them a reality, where the world of farming is transformed from the old school labourer gaping silage to a fulfilling career path, enhancing the sustainable food production for the next generation, producing the highest standards of food anywhere in the world, supporting a growing population and growing your future career from the very same seed
